You can only order the thicknesses we offer in our online shop; unfortunately, we cannot help you with other thicknesses.
Our range includes a variety of products to help you with your next project. We supply and cut over 1,000 types of timber to your specifications. With such a wide range, it can be a bit overwhelming to make the right choice. Use the filters to find your ideal board.
General tips for choosing the right type of wood
Take our word for it: you can’t go wrong with timber and sheet materials. Below are a few tips to make things easier for you. First of all, the following applies to every project:
- Decide on the look you want
- Determine the dimensions
- Determine the thickness
Are you on a tight budget? Then MDF is always a good choice, as you can easily finish it in your preferred colour. Do you have a larger budget? Simply specify the specifications you’re looking for on the category page and be inspired by the many options available. You can do this easily by following the steps below:

In addition to the tips above, there are also a number of other general tips that may be useful when choosing the right panel:
- 18 mm and 22 mm are the most commonly chosen thicknesses when building a structure.
- All unfinished panels need to be varnished before they can be used in damp environments.
- MDF and plywood are popular base materials. You can get these fully finished with a melamine or HPL top layer, but they are often more expensive. So, are you on a tight budget? Then go for unfinished materials and finish them yourself with paint or varnish.
