We have equipped our new Ikea kitchen with a beautiful oak worktop, so that we have more work space during baking and cooking. A true delight!

DIY: pimp your kitchen with Oak!

1: The left sheet measured so that it is tailored to the actual space. I ordered the sheet with some margin because I could only measure the space exactly during the set-up. 2: Made the recess for the sink and the tap. 3: The parts glued together and fixed to the kitchen cabinets. 4: Sanded the whole and finished the straight edge of the worktop by adding a bevel. 5: Twice applied a two-component lacquer and sanded and finally applied a third coat. 6: The sink and tap placed. 7: Edges sealed.
