Description

To make optimal use of the office of our house, I made a floating desk together with my father. By meticulous work, we were ultimately able to create a pleasant workplace with plenty of space. The challenge was mainly in sawing the edges to size, since the walls in our house are not perfectly straight. The spruce desktop leans on beams attached to the wall, providing sufficient support.

How did you make the desk?

By mounting the 4.0 cm thick beams level to the wall with screws that go far enough into the wall, we created an edge for the table top to rest on. We then sawed out a recess by sawing the edges neatly straight with a circular saw. With skewed walls, it is essential to measure the space properly first. This prevents you from accidentally sawing away too much wood.

What are the measurements?

The dimensions are 240.0 cm by 80.0 cm.
